



Cushing Police Check Out Bogus Email Regarding Former Local Pastor
(Cushing, Okla.) According to Cushing Police, an email is being circulated about former Cushing pastor Ted Uhlig in order to solicate funds. Recipients are urged to disregard the email and contact the police department at (918) 225-1212 if they have given money or other resources because of the bogus email.


Clayton Kerr To Speak At First Christian Church
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will be celebrating
Father's Day, June 20, 2010 with Clayton Kerr, Cushing, as special
guest speaker. He is presently attending the Hillsdale Bible College
at Moore, Oklahoma where he is majoring in Pastorial Ministries.

Community Garage Sale to Benefit Families with Autistic Children
A community garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. - early afternoon,
Saturday, June 5th at The First Church of God, located at 501 N. Noble
in Cushing. Hosted by a large group of family and friends, the
proceeds of the sale will go to help three Cushing families who are
facing the expenses of out-of-town schooling and therapies for their
children with Autism - two families with one child and one with
autistic twins.

Reception Slated For Darla Hoggatt
May 21, 2010, marked the end of a little over four decades,
forty-three years to be exact, of educating, mentoring, and role
modeling of students that span from Oklahoma to Arkansas to Texas to
Kansas. Mrs. Darla Hoggatt, reading teacher at Cushing Middle School,
is retiring from public school education.

Mayor Proclaims May 5th Cushing's Day of Prayer
Mayor John Henckel proclaimed May 5, 2010 to be "Cushing's Day of Prayer" at Monday's Board of Commissioners meeting held in City Hall. The proclamation was accepted by Denise Kinzie. Kinzie has played an integral part of the local National Day of Prayer events for 15 years.
BRANDED and Ben Scroggs To Perform In Yale
Yale Church of God is hosting a bean dinner and concert, Friday, April 30th. The concert will feature the Christian Country Music duo, BRANDED and special guest Ben Scroggs. The dinner will be held from 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall with the concert following. Tickets are $10 for adults, children 6 - 12 $5, ages 5 and under are free.
