Rupa DeSilva, MD, has joined The Women's Health Group. Dr. DeSilva is
board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and specializes in
Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
Hillcrest Hospital Cushing held a Home School Health Fair Monday, April 29th with 107 people in attendance including 2nd and 3rd grade SIGNAL students from Cushing.
Members of the medical community attended an informational lunch in the Auxiliary Education Room at Hillcrest Hospital Cushing recently to learn more about Oklahoma Project Woman (OPW).

The Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center at Hillcrest will host
Tatas & Tinis April 4th to benefit Oklahoma Project Woman (OPW).
Funds from this second annual cocktail-themed party will help to provide
free mammograms for low-income women throughout the state.

The Cushing Masonic Lodge Charity Fund ended 2012 with a donation to the
Cushing Regional Hospital Foundation. Their $328.43 gift will be
placed in the Education Fund for the Cushing Paramedics. Terry Maxwell,
Master of the Lodge, and Bob Felts, Masonic Lodge Charity Golf
Organizer, recently presented a check to Lee Roy Kalka, CRH Foundation President.
Cushing's Lions Club met Tuesday at the Hillcrest Hospital Cushing Auxiliary Education room for their weekly meeting, to meet Sheldon, the medical specialist robot and to recognize members of the club who received certificates for various reasons.

Hillcrest Hospital Cushing announced February's Lunch & Learn scheduled on Monday, Feb. 18th will feature Dr. Matthew Good, Cardiologist. Dr. Good will speak on the epidemic of obesity and the positive effects of regular exercise.
The Leta M. Chapman Breast Center at Hillcrest Medical Center has been
designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) by the American
College of Radiology (ACR). The Chapman Breast Center at Hillcrest is
one of only four breast care centers in Oklahoma to be named a BICOE by
the ACR, a designation awarded to less than 10% of breast centers
nationwide.
The future is here at Hillcrest Hospital Cushing!HHC CEO Kevin Hawk introduced one of the latest additions of the staff - "Sheldon" - to those attending January's Lunch & Learn. Sheldon, the robot, is equipped with a telescopic camera and a special stethoscope to listen to heart, breath and bowel sounds.
Hillcrest Hospital Cushing has announced a C.A.R.E. meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31st at 11:30 a.m. Those attending will hear from special guest speaker Janie Engle, Executive Director of Living Oasis Assisted Living in Cushing.

Hillcrest Hospital|Cushing honored the ladies and gentlemen that
volunteer at the Hospital with a Christmas Brunch on December 18. Those
in attendance enjoyed the brunch prepared by Brian Wright and his staff
and received a gift from the Hospital. Shauna Jones has served as the
planner for this event for many years.

Sufficient sleep is increasingly being recognized as an essential aspect
of chronic disease prevention, according to the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control (CDC). However, one in six Americans - roughly 40
million people - are living with a sleep disorder, which puts them at an
elevated risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, obesity
and decreased quality of life.
Ronald Mark Guy, MD, FACS, a Utica Park Clinic physician specializing in
Otolaryngology (commonly referred to as "Ear, Nose & Throat" or
"ENT") will begin seeing patients in Cushing twice a month starting on
Tuesday, December 11. Dr. Guy will continue seeing patients at his
office in Tulsa.

On Tuesday, November 13, a team of Oklahoma Heart Institute (OHI)
physicians successfully performed Tulsa's first two transapical
transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TA-TAVR) procedures. TA-TAVR is a
life-saving procedure for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are
at too high a risk for traditional open heart surgery.
