(Norman) - OU kicks off its 114th season of football on Saturday, Aug. 30, hosting Chattanooga at Owen Field. The game is slated for 6 p.m.
The Sooners will be prohibitive favorites over the Mocs who are coached by Rodney Allison (Texas Tech 1980).
Oklahoma is picked to repeat as Big 12 South Champions, and also picked to win the Big 12 overall.
Oklahoma is led by sophomore quarterback Sam Bradford, who was not only impressive as a freshman qb, but impressive among the nation's leadiing quarterback last season. Bradford is mentioned among Heisman Trophy contenders this season, and his numbers from a year ago back it up.
Although it's unlikely to be a problem this Saturday, the Sooners weak spot on paper would seem to be the defensive secondary. But that is about the only weak spot, if it really is.
Saturday's game will be on television only as part of a pay-per-view package.
