(Norman) - Oklahoma Sooner Head Coach Bob Stoops announced today that highly recruited wide receiver Josh Jarboe has been dismissed from the team. The dismissal followed the appearance on the Internet of a profanity laced video in which Jarboe rapped about guns, violence and other topics.

Jarboe, from Cedar Grove, Georgia was sentenced in May to two years probation after he was caught with a gun on school property. He was initially charged with a felony, but the crime was reduced to a misdemeanor.

In a statement from the university released today, Stoops said: "We outlined for Josh the expectations we had for him when he arrived and, unfortunately, those expectations have not been met. Josh needs to learn from this experience. We hope he can move forward in a positive manner."
