Judge Denies Change of Venue in Fatal OSU Parade Crash

After a day-long hearing Tuesday, a Payne County judge denied a defense request to move the jury trial, scheduled to begin on Jan. 10 and take 30 days, to another county for 26-year-old Adacia Avery Chambers, who has been charged with 46 counts in the fatal OSU Homecoming Parade crash on Oct. 24, 2015.

American Legion Receives Donation

On Saturday, December 3rd (2016) Farrel Kleckner, Contact Person for the American Legion Hall (Donaldson/Walker Post 108), located at 214 S. Noble (Cushing) received a check for a $1,000 from the Oklahoma American Veterans, while visiting (Tulsa) Nothing Bundt Cakes. The check which is to aid in the rebuilding of the American Legion Hall will go 100% towards the building fees.

Drug Charge Filed Against Cushing Man

A Cushing man with a 12-year history of drug arrests was formally charged today with possession of the painkiller, hydrocodone, on Oct. 4 in Cushing following a report of an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck at a gas station at 224 E. Cherry Street.
