An ex-convict from Tulsa avoided a jury trial in Payne County this week by accepting a plea bargain for an eight-year prison term for possessing a stolen 2002 Jaguar while driving through Perkins.

Pawnee Man Accused Of Attacking Police Chief Due In Court

A Pawnee man has been ordered to appear in court Thursday on charges of striking Pawnee Police Chief Wes Clymer, interfering with an emergency telephone call and being intoxicated in public on Jan. 1, as well as possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia on April 11 – all while he was on probation for drug possession in Pawnee County and concealing stolen property in Payne County.

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Yale man who failed to appear in Payne County District Court last week for sentencing on charges of embezzling a Cushing man’s $4,800 welding machine, passing an $800 bogus check to another Cushing man, and giving three bogus checks to Maverick Mini Mart in Cushing.
