Ruth Evelyn Anderson, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Stillwater Medical Center with her family by her side at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Council Valley Baptist Church, 19016 E. 44th Street, Yale, Ok. Reverend Larry Lehr will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born on August 10, 1930 to Ernest L. and Beatrice (Stevens) Parker in Tryon, OK. She moved to Parkland at a young age and graduated from Agra High School. After high school, Evelyn married the love of her life, Alton Dale Anderson on April 10, 1950 in Chandler, OK. They bought a farm in 1959, and she worked hard with her husband. They had two loving children, Larry and Debbie. She raised her children, worked the farm, gardened, milked cows, and enjoyed sewing for her daughter and granddaughter. She was active, but enjoyed every minute she spent with her family. Family was the most important aspect of Evelyn’s life.
Evelyn was a faithful and active member of Council Valley Baptist Church. She volunteered for vacation bible school from 1964 to 2005 and served as a secretary to the Sunday School Director. She was a devoted choir member and enjoyed singing her praise. She and her husband helped with any and everything at the church, working as a team.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Evelyn is survived by two children, Larry Dale Anderson of Yale, Debbie Harrison and husband, Jim of Cushing; one sister, Patsy Davis of Agra; two grandchildren, Brian Harrison and wife, Whitney, Tammy Robinson and husband, Kenny; four great grandchildren, Dustin Boos and fiancé Jessie Pearce, Kayla Boos, Derek Robinson and wife, Jordan, Tyler Harrison; one great-great grandchild, Hunter Boos.
Ruth is preceded in death by husband of 53 years, Alton D. Anderson, both parents, Ernest and Beatrice Parker; one brother-in-law, Ferman Davis.
