REUBEN LEONARD HARRISON, was born January 1, 1967 to Dorothy & Nathaniel Harrison in Cushing, Oklahoma. His birth sparked the community as been the first child born in 1967 and featured in the Cushing Citizen.  Reuben attended Langston Elementary, Cushing Jr. High and High School and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1985.

 
Reuben Harrison came to know the Lord at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church North of Cushing, Oklahoma.

 
His love for cooking led him to many of his job opportunities, spending many years working at Oklahoma State University in the Food Services Industry, in addition to several years in Janitorial Services.  He had a passion for cooking, fishing, watching Oklahoma Sooner Football and spending time with his friends & loved ones.

 
Having the desire to seek an alternate career field, Reuben knew as well as others that the oil business was booming, so he landed a job in the oil field.  His passion for food service led him from the oilfield back to the kitchen and he return to food services until he began to undergo orthopedic procedures.

 
On February 8, 2017, Reuben peacefully departed this earth at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 
He is preceded in death, by his father Nathaniel Harrison; paternal and maternal grandparents and one nephew Calvin Lane.

 
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Courtney Harrison and daughter Cambrey Harrison, two step-children; mother Dorothy Harrison of Stillwater, Oklahoma; daughter Aushia Harrison (granddaughter Jaiden Jack) of Dallas, Texas; five sisters Theresa Wilson of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; Pauline Hall (Herbert), Nancy Tippett, Emma Williams of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Christine Lacey (Wayne) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers Pheophulis Mukes (Carolyn) of Grandfield, Oklahoma, Vernon Mukes & Edgar Mukes of Stillwater, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear and special life-time friend Curtis Tucker, Sr.

 

 

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Mount Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Douglas Robinson officiating.

 

 

Viewing will be Friday evening, from 5 – 8 PM, at the Davis Funeral Home.
