Carl Allan Darling, a longtime Cushing resident, now of Bixby, passed away on Friday evening at the age of 47 in Tulsa with his family by his side. A Celebration of Carl’s life will be held Thursday, March 16th at 2:00 PM at Faith Church in Glenpool, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.

Carl was born in Enid, OK on March 5, 1970 to Terry Wayne and Shirley Gayle (Adams) Darling. He grew up in Yale, graduating from Yale High School in 1988. He attended O.S.U. and N.O.C, graduating with an Associates in Applied Science. After finishing school, Carl started his career at Magellan Pipeline and worked proudly for 25 years.

He fished, traveled, rode his motorcycle, enjoyed off-roading, camping, cooking, going to the gun range and spending time with friends and family. Carl loved turning a house into a home by using one of his many talents, remodeling. In his spare time you would always find Carl rebuilding hot rods or spending time at swap meets with his buddies. No matter where you were, you would always hear Carl singing a song with an infectious smile on his face. Carl was a fun loving guy with a larger than life personality who always knew how to make you laugh and never met a stranger. Among his many talents were his infinite number of one-liners (Carlisms).

Carl had many accomplishments throughout his lifetime, but most importantly were his wife, kids, and family. He loved to share those experiences with them.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beverly of the home, daughters Bridget and Lorna Darling of the home, Amber Darling and boyfriend Rocky DeFalco of Denver, CO; parents Terry and Shirley Darling of Yale, OK; sister Adrienne Hembree and husband Justin Hembree and niece and nephew Madison and Brendan Hembree of Deer Creek, OK; sister-in-law Linda Kanady and husband Steve Kanady of Cushing, OK; niece Lori Welch and husband Aaron Welch and great nephews Tristan and Caden Welch of Cushing, OK; nephew Brian Kanady and wife Cass Kanady and great nieces Madison and Harper Kanady of Agra, OK; nephew Jeff Bacon of Depew, OK; many more family members and close friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his grandma and grandpa, Lorna Dee Adams and Wayne Adams, his brother-in-law, Leo Thibodeaux, mother and father-in-law, Leo Sr. and Stella Mae Thibodeaux.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmer Marler Funeral Home for Bridget and Lorna’s college fund.
