Velma Geraldine “Jerry” Bay, age 87, a Drumright resident, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Jerry Patterson to officiate.
Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
Velma was born on August 10, 1929 in Drumright, Oklahoma to William Sherman, and Virginia Leah (Fincher) Scott. She grew up in Drumright and attended Drumright Public School, Jerry as most would call her met and married Lawrence Bay in the spring of 1977; she worked as a Nurse’s aide at the Rest Haven, and Drumright nursing home for many years, when not working she enjoyed going fishing and camping with Lawrence. Jerry loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she also loved going to Church at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall Church in Cushing.

Jerry is survived by her three sons: Tony Helvy and wife Alta, Dennis Helvy, and Charles Helvy, three daughters: Carol Carmichael, Virginia Davis and husband Henry, and Glenda Clark and husband Mike, 18 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Lawrence, one daughter: Debbie McCoullough three sisters: Beulah Barnhart, Mary Seay, and Sarah Tidwell, three brothers: Lee Scott, Floyd Pruitt, and Cecil Pruitt.
