Anna Marie Hamilton, longtime Yale resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home surrounded by family at the age of 86.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Yale.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Church of Christ, 821 N. Duck, Stillwater, OK. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Yale.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Church of Christ, 821 N. Duck, Stillwater, OK.
Anna Marie Hamilton was born on August 31, 1930 to Bird and Maggie (Henson) Woods in Sapulpa, OK. She grew up in Oklahoma and moved around in her youth. Anna married Marvin William Elmer Hamilton on March 14, 1945 in Sapulpa and shared 25 loving years together before his passing. They lived near Sapulpa until 1973 when she moved to Idaho. She began her career as a site manager for Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, retiring after 21 years. Anna found love again and married Luke Lewis Hamilton on September 1, 1973 in Elko, Nevada. They moved to Yale in 1994.
Anna was a member of North Jardot Church of Christ. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Anna also enjoyed her schnauzers and watching TV.
Anna was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Anna is survived by two sons Marvin Hamilton and wife, Anita of Independence, MO, Robert Hamilton and wife, Cindy of Stillwater; two daughters, Mary Leigh and husband, Danny of Glencoe, Belva Sewell and husband, Terry of Yale; sister-in-law Rose Woods of Cushing. Anna is also survived by grandchildren, Leon Hamilton, Sean Duncan, Keith Stroud Jr., Marvin Hamilton Jr., John Stroud, Iva Stroud, Mark Stroud, Laura Brown, Lucindy Ingram, Robert William Hamilton and Bill Sewell; 43 great-grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Bird and Maggie Woods, her husbands, brothers, Cecil Woods and Carl Woods; sisters, Inez Brown, and June Hunter .
