William Raymond “Bud” Spencer, age 72 of Yale, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Tulsa, Ok. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, Ok.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, Ok.

Bud was born on May 18, 1944 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late William Ambers and Annabelle (Wikel) Spencer. He grew up and graduated from Mannford. Bud married the love of his life JoAnna Workman. Bud worked as a driller and worked his way up through the ranks to foreman of numerous oil rigs. He lived on a ranch where he took great pride in his horses. Bud enjoyed ranch rodeos, horseback riding, fishing, and watching old westerns. He never met a stranger and was always quick to help others. Bud liked to go to the coffee shop to drink coffee with his friends and visit. Bud loved his grandchildren and raised his sister’s kids after her death. He loved spring time when all the new baby horses were born and loved his dogs.

Survivors include his wife JoAnna of the home, son Christopher Workman and wife Starla of Oktaha, Ok., daughters Cherie Johnson of Mannford, Gail Scott and husband James of Okmulgee, Ok., niece Sheila Lovell and husband Christopher Johnson of Sultan, Washington, nephew Billy Cottom and wife Heather of Camano Island, Washington, grandchildren Cody Johnson, Charlene Johnson and husband Edward De Jesus, Samantha Johnson, Ryan Davis, Emily Davis, Dylan Koyn, Matthew Koyn, Angelina Scott, J.J. Scott, Samantha Workman Kisner and husband Archie, Kimberly Workman, Amanda Workman, great grandchildren Hannah, Adam and Eli Kisner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Billy Duane, sister Maryann Bowen, nephew Toney Bowen.
