Fatality Collision North of Bristow

(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is based on a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety (DPS).


A fatality collision involving three vehicles occurred Friday, May 12th (2017) at approximately 4:00 pm. It happened at the junction of SH48 and SH33 northbound, 3 miles north of Bristow, in Creek County.


Involved in the collision was a 1997 Beaver Dynasty Recreational Vehicle, driven by Roger R. Greenley (76), of Rapid City, South Dakota, a 2015 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by Peter J. Izzo Jr. (73), of Red Bank, New Jersey and a 2016 GMC Yukon driven by Lora A. Thompson (54), of Collinsville, OK.


Greenley and his passenger Peggy A. Greenley (77) Rapid City, South Dakota, were not injured.


Thompson was not injured nor were her passengers Nona Y. Sowder (77) of Okemah, and the 11 year old juvenile from Collinsville.


Izzo Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by Creek County EMS.


According to the DPS, the collision was caused by a failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
