Cushing Police Investigate Early Morning Home Burglary, Which Left One Injured
(Cushing, Okla)- This morning just prior to 4:30 am, Cushing Police were dispatched to a residential burglary call in the 1000 block of east Greenlee.
Prior to officers arrival, they were advised that a male occupant of the residence had been stabbed and was in need of medical treatment. Once on scene, officers tended to the injured male until paramedics arrived and took over treatment.
Officers then turned their intentions to the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that three unknown male subjects entered the residence through the front door.
The suspects then made contact with the owners of the residence, where they demanded the owners wallet and medication. The suspects then asked the homeowner, for the location of their son, which he called by name.
The suspects then moved to the other end of the house, where they assaulted the owner’s son as he slept. During the assault, the son attempted to disarm one of suspects, which was armed with a handgun. During this time frame, the son was stabbed in the lower abdomen by a second suspect.
The three suspects then fled the scene on foot. The son was transported to the local hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Crime Scene assistance was requested and obtained from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, given the severity of the incident.
At this time, law enforcement continues to follow up on all leads in attempt to identify the three suspects. Anyone having information on this case should contact Ofc. Aaron Sherman or Chief Tully Folden at 918-225-1212.
