John Milton Snavely, a Stillwater resident, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Stillwater Hospital with his family by his side at the age of 64. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing, OK.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
John was born on July 29, 1952 in Oklahoma City to the late Carl Everette and Etta Marie (Greenwood) Snavely. He grew up in Ripley, graduating from Ripley High School in 1970. After high school, he worked in many different fields including oilfield, banking, plumbing, and maintenance throughout the years. He was a jack of all trades. John married the love of his life Mary Pence on April 23, 1971, to this union Shane and Anthony “Tony” were born. They lived in Cushing for many years, later in life moved to Stillwater. He was very family oriented and enjoyed sitting by the campfire, grilling out with his family. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed practical jokes, and was very easy going. John was a loving husband and father.
John is survived by his wife Mary Snavely of the home, son Shane Snavely of Tahoe, CA, brother William F. Snavely and wife, LeAnn of Edmond, sisters Linda M. Snavely of Ripley, Susan Snavely- Trujillo of Ripley, Deborah K. Ferguson and husband, Dave of Pawnee, grandson Cayman Snavely and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, son Anthony “Tony” Snavely, sister Carlene J. Ham.
