Opal Deloris Pryor, former Yale resident, passed from this life on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Stillwater Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Yale.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Lawson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Yale funeral home.

Opal Pryor was born on June 16, 1931 to Clarence and Lola (Noble) Reece in Yale. She grew up on a farm, just south of Yale. Opal attended a country school and Yale High School. While in school, Opal was active in basketball, glee club, track, and FFA. After school, she worked for the city drug store. While working at the drug store, Opal met Orval Mullen in 1947 and married him in 1950. They had one daughter, Janette.

Opal’s true passion was styling hair. She received her certification in cosmetology and opened her own beauty shop in Yale. She was an active member in the Yale Chamber of Commerce.

In 1974, Opal married Joe Pryor. They spent 26 loving years together before his passing in 2000.

Opal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Opal is survived by one daughter, Janette Mullen; one sister, Virginia White; one grandson, Dannie J. Sissel; two granddaughters, Tammie Blakley and Patricia L. Sissel. Opal is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

Opal is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pryor; parents, Clarence and Lola Reece; one brother, Clifford Reece; one sister, LaVerne Reece.
