Evelyn Fern Blankenship, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 in Tulsa with her family by her side at the age of 79.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.  Pastor  Josh Seabolt will officiate.  Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Ok.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Evelyn was born on June 20, 1938 in Lovell, Oklahoma to the late Royce and Alice Rebecca (Story) Hopson, she was one of eight children.  She grew up and attended school in Carney.  Evelyn married the love of her life Roy C. Blankenship on June 3, 1954 at the Lincoln County Court House in Chandler to this union eight children were born Becky, Paula, Hootie, Shortie,  Dian, Jay,  Joe and Rhonda.  They made their home in Cushing where they raised their family.  Evelyn was baptized at the Oak Street Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cross word puzzles, crocheting, watching Rangers Baseball and golf, and reading her Bible daily.  Since Evelyn was raised in a large family and had a large family, she was in her element with family get-togethers.

Evelyn is survived by her children Becky Champlain and husband Robert of Pryor, Paula Brensing and husband Joe of Drumright, Hootie Tinnie of Cushing,  Shortie Pierce of Cushing, Dian Blankenship of Cushing,  Joe Blankenship and wife Shelly of Guthrie,  Rhonda Bagwell and husband Noel of Cushing, brother Royce  “Butch” Loveless and wife Marilyn of Tulia, Tx.,  sister Norma Lowe of Oklahoma City, Joyce “Susie” Varner of Anchorage, Alaska, sister-in-law Agnes Higgins of Bowie,  Maryland, grandchildren Michael Champlain, Jeff Champlain and wife Julie, Bradley Champlain, Alicia Brensing, Andrea Mercer and husband Jeff,  Stacie McEntire and husband Jeremy, Courtney Pierce, Alyson Pierce, Levi Blankenship, Ashley Blankenship, Cole Blankenship, April Bagwell and Ryan Bagwell, great grandchildren Ashley DeLong, Bobby Champlain, Derrian Champlain, Caleb Champlain, Robert Champlain,  Jacob Champlain, Danielle Champlain, Matthew Mercer, Logan Mercer, Trenton McEntire, Alaina McEntire, Laila McEntire, and Easton Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Blankenship, son Jay Blankenship, infant sibling Loveless, brothers Bill Hopson and Thomas “Buzz”Loveless, sister JoAnn Gwyn, sons-in law Everett Tinnie and David Pierce, and granddaughter Crystal Tinnie.
