Injury Collision in Oklahoma County

(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is based on a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety (DPS).


A personal injury collision occurred on July 13th (2017) at 8:25 pm, on Interstate 40 westbound (just west of Agnew Avenue) in Oklahoma City, in Oklahoma County.


A 34 year old unidentified male (from Oklahoma City) was the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Impala, on Interstate 40 westbound, when the vehicle he was driving encountered the 2009 Dodge Ram, driven by Dakota Sparks (21) of Shawnee. Sparks who was also westbound on Interstate 40, and had slowed for construction traffic when the vehicle he was driving was struck in the rear.


The male in the Chevrolet was transported by EMSA to OU Medical Center (OKC) in good condition. Sparks was transported by EMSA to Saint Anthony’s (OKC) where he was treated and released.


According to the DPS report the driver’s condition in the Chevrolet was ability impaired (drinking), and the collision was thought to have been caused by DUI.
