Stillwater Man Ordered To Register As Sex Offender
(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man accused of posting an ad on Craigslist has pleaded guilty to soliciting sexual conduct with a minor by means of technology, a court official told KUSH.
Michael John Pellegrin, 32, was ordered on Aug. 2 to serve 180 days in the Payne County Jail followed by two and one-half years of probation, the court official said.
Pellegrin must register as a Level 2 sex offender for 25 years on the order of Payne County Associate District Judge Stephen Kistler, the court official said.
An undercover Stillwater police officer attached to the Internet Crimes Against Children task force began conversing on July 27, 2016, with a male — later identified as Pellegrin — who had posted an ad on Craigslist, a police news release said.
“The undercover officer had responded to Michael’s ad stating he was looking for some fun,” the news release said.
“The undercover officer advised Michael she was a 14-year-old female. Michael advised the undercover officer that age didn’t bother him and asked to meet with the 14-year-old,” the news release said.
“Michael and the undercover officer communicated over the next day and agreed to meet at the 14-year-old girl’s house in Stillwater to engage in sexual activity while her parents were away,” the news release said.
“When Michael arrived and approached the residence, he was taken into custody by officers stationed in the area,” according to the news release.
