Ace Logan

A.W. ‘Ace’ Logan, 76, passed from this life on September 28, 2017 in Stillwater, OK after an extended illness.

A.W. was born in Wayne, Oklahoma to Claude and Mae Miller Logan on September 9, 1941, joining older siblings, Dena Mae, Claudine ‘Rusty’ and John Henry ‘Buck’.

Ace came to Cushing in 1974 as a businessman to open the car dealership, Logan Ford. He also had several other auto and airplane-related businesses and recalled fondly his many friendships in Cushing.

A long-time pilot, Ace was a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army, flying his L19 ‘Birddog’ as forward-reconnaissance. He raced stock cars in California and Oklahoma, loved to travel and listen to The Blues. A.W. was an entertainer in the 1950s and 60s, his rich, velvet baritone fronting bands and as a soloist, he toured briefly in California and Texas. He also acted and sang in several stage productions with area community theatres.

A.W. Logan lived life to the fullest every minute he was able and never backed down from a challenge or a new adventure. He stepped up boldly in countless situations and said, “I can do that!” He was a good man and is missed by many.

Ace leaves behind his wife, Linda, his sister, Dena Logan Nowotny of Tulsa. Children: Alan English, Lorinda Herrod of Big Spring, TX, Lisa LeAnn English of El Paso, TX, Kristi Wareham of Rowlett, TX, Misti Barham of Corinth, TX., Larry Werhle of Oklahoma, Lisa Roussell of Ellicott City, MD., Desy Maus of Maryville, IL., Chasen Shaw of Edmond, OK and David Morse of Evans, CO., also over 25 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son, Erin Scott Logan, his parents, sister Rusty and brother, Buck.
