Anna W. Jobe, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 87.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Ralph Hickman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Jackson, Mississippi.
Anna was born on August 30, 1930 in Knoxville, TN to Harry D. Sr. and Viola (Rice) Williams. She grew up in Jefferson City, TN and attended school in Corinth, MS. Anna graduated from Corinth High School in 1948. After high school, Anna married the love of her life, Billy Jobe. They had three loving children together: Billy Jr., Mark, and Anna Marie. Anna was very supportive of her children and their organizational activities. While in Florence, AL, Billy and Anna started a youth baseball league for all the kids in town to play baseball.
In 1969, Anna and her family moved to Cushing. Anna worked at Cushing Regional Hospital as a billing specialist for many years until retiring. She was a very active in the community. She was a member at First Baptist Church since coming to Cushing. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. Anna loved all kinds of music from traditional hymns to Elvis. Anna was a leader in the Girl Scouts, while her daughter took part in it.
Anna was faithful to her family, the Lord, and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Anna is survived by two sons: Billy Jobe Jr. and wife, Martha of Corinth, MS and Mark Jobe of Cushing; one daughter, Anna Marie Giboney of Cushing; one sister, Betty Wharton of Byrum, MS; four grandchildren, Erin Ulrich and husband, Phil, Kelsi Elliott, Tori Jobe, Kendra Ferree and fiancé, Austin Miller, seven great grandchildren Milena Ulrich, Ella Ulrich, Kourie Elliott, Bentley Elliott, Adecyn Hickman, Kinnen Miller, and Oliver Miller.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Sr. and Viola Williams, and her husband, Billy Jobe, brothers Glen T. Williams and Harry D. Willams Jr.
