Long time Oilton resident Patricia “Patty” Lynn Clawson, passed away at home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 surrounded by family.  She was 61.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Oilton High School Gymnasium, in Oilton, OK.  The Reverends Henry Stahl and Tim Gillespie will officiate.  Interment will follow at Underwood Cemetery in Yale, OK.

Patty was born on August 30, 1956 in Pryor, OK to Billy B. and Phyllis (Jones) Due.  Patty grew up in Arizona and moved to Hominy, OK at the age of 15.  After graduation from Hominy High School, she moved to Mannford where she met her future husband Bill Clawson. They were married on November 21, 1979 and they were blessed with two children, Amanda and Billy.

Aside from holding the position of CEO of the School of Hard Knocks, Patty was employed by Oilton Public Schools for 27 years where she held multiple positions during her tenure.  Her career began as a teaching assistant and bus driver and soon she filled such jobs as Director of Transportation, Registrar, Graduation Coordinator, Homecoming Coordinator, High School Administrative Assistant and for the last several years held the prestigious and often trying position of Director of the Superintendent.  Patty was deeply involved with the management of Oilton High School, where she kept the wheels of education turning on a daily basis.

Through her three decades of service, Patty touched the hearts of many students. She loved her ‘kids’ and they adored her.  In April of 2016, Patty was voted “Prom Queen” by the OHS Senior Class.

Patty was a member of the Drumright First Free Will Baptist Church.  Her beautiful heart and endearing wit will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the Oilton community.

Patty is survived by her husband Bill of the home, daughter Amanda Burrows and husband T.J. , Sheila Clawson and  Craig Holm, grandchildren Kai and Trevor Tunnell, Ashlynn Clawson, Isaac Burrows, and Hallie Holm, all of Oilton, step-daughter Kelly Smith and grandchildren Karson and Kori Smith of Chickasha, step-son Chris Clawson of Tulsa, parents  Bill and Phyllis Due , brother Danny Due , sisters Sissy Hulse and husband John , Lori Desautell and husband Denny all of Pryor and sister at heart Denise Brandon of Oilton.

She was preceded in death by her precious son Billy Clawson, and brothers Allen and Bill Due.
