Wayne Raymond Dennis was born on February 1, 1927 in Agra, OK to Jake and Lillian Dennis and went to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 90.

On April 15, 1947 Wayne married Arzella Todd in Cushing at the Pastor’s house. They made their homestead in Ripley, OK and raised their daughter Shirley and son Terry. Wayne worked on a dairy for years. After leaving the dairy, Wayne started farming and also worked in the finish concrete and cement business. Several years later, Wayne joined the maintenance department at Cushing Public School. He stayed with them full time for 31 years, and after taking a year off, he worked for them part time mowing for 20 more years.

Wayne had many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed catching catfish on the Cimarron River, tending 3 gardens annually, riding horses, and traveling with family. He loved to eat all kinds of food, especially chicken fried steak and he had to have his one scoop of ice cream daily. When Wayne was stuck inside, he watched all his westerns, especially if John Wayne was the star. He was kind to all animals, especially his dog, Coco, and his chickens. One thing Wayne always had with him was his toothpick, either in his mouth or in his hand.

Wayne loved his family most of all. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. Wayne is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arzella Dennis of the home; one son, Terry Dennis and wife, Sherry of Cleveland; two granddaughters, Keri Dennis of Norman, JJ Spears and husband, Hunter of Cleveland; two grandsons, Dale Robinson and Shane Robinson, both of Stillwater. Wayne is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
