Alberta Rose Lozier, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 with Rev. Kathy Leithner officiating. Burial will follow at Harrell Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Alberta was born on March 24, 1940 to Albert and Marie Iona (Mooney) Smith in Cushing, OK. She grew up in Cushing and graduated from CHS in 1958. After graduating high school, Alberta attended business school in Oklahoma City. In January of 1959, Alberta married Guy R. Lozier at the First Baptist Church in Ripley. They had four loving children together: David, Guy Mark, Michael, and Pam. Alberta and the family moved to California for short time. While there, Alberta worked in the peach orchards making boxes. Alberta and her family moved back to Oklahoma in the Cushing and Ripley area.

Alberta is survived by three sons: David Lozier and wife, Rose of Cushing; Guy Mark Lozier and wife, Dena of Cushing; Michael Lozier and wife, Cathy of Ria Dosa, NM; one daughter, Pam Lozier of Cushing; one brother, Wayne Florer and wife, Jo Ann of Guthrie. Alberta is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Florer, and one sister, Ruby Vassar.
