Otis Mitchell “Mitch” Sovia was born on February 18, 1962 to Monti Arlene (Bryant) Eck and Gary Sovia in Muskogee, OK. He passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Cushing, OK. Mitch spent his early years in Gonvick, MN where he started school. He later moved back to Muskogee, OK where he finished the remainder of his schooling and then attended college in Miami, OK. Mitch made his home in Cushing, OK and married Michelle Lynn Cherry of Cushing on December 20, 1999. Mitch enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on guns and spending time with his family. Mitch was very active in the kids sporting events and coached many football, soccer, and baseball teams as his children grew up.

Mitch was preceded in death by his mother Monti Arlene (Bryant) Eck of Muskogee, OK; father Gary Sovia of Tyler, TX; step father Ronald Eck of Muskogee, OK; sister Donna Susan Sovia of Muskogee, OK and his grandparents Otis and Ruth Bryant of Henryetta, OK.

Mitch is survived by his wife Michelle Sovia of the home; they share two children. Daughter Lucy Sovia of Cushing, OK and Jesse Arguello of Stillwater, OK and his former wife Cheri (Williams) Sovia of Cushing OK that also share two children. Daughter Nikki Sovia of Cushing, OK and son Josh Sovia of Cushing, OK; sister Susan Stewart and family of Muskogee, OK; sister Peggy Lamb and family of Stilwell, OK; brother David Sovia of Muskogee, OK; and three grandchildren, Kiersten, Lylian, and Giovanni of Cushing, OK.

Mitch will be greatly missed by family and many, many friends.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
