Among her accolades were being named Drumright Citizen of the Year, and twice named an Outstanding Oklahoman of the Year.

After retirement she became a trained docent for Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, gave weekly tours at the Oklahoma Aquarium, and gave guided tours of the Governor’s Mansion in Oklahoma City.
Her many hobbies included writing poetry, painting, playing bridge, golfing, gardening, and being an Oklahoma State Football season ticket holder for over 50 years. In sports, Jimmie’s blood ran Orange, but in Politics she remained true blue.

A celebration of life will follow in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider an act of kindness for someone in need.
Jimmie ended her letters and conversations with the two words she lived by, “Be Kind”. Class dismissed, Jimmie.
