Chandler Man Arrested in Cushing Charged with Possessing Stolen Vehicle

(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Chandler man — on probation in Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties — was charged today in Payne County with possessing a stolen 1998 Dodge in Cushing and obstructing Cushing Police Officer Matt Piatt by giving him a name other than his own on Saturday.
James Wendell Price III, 24, has been ordered held in the Payne County Jail on $10,000 bail, court records show.
According to court records and the state Department of Corrections, Price remains on probation for:
* unauthorized use of a vehicle in 2016 in Chandler for which he was given a 10-year suspended sentence on Dec. 20, 2016;
* larceny from a house in 2015 in Chandler for which he was given a concurrent 10-year suspended sentence on Dec. 20, 2016;
* false personation and unauthorized use of a vehicle in Pottawatomie County in 2013 for which he was given a five-year suspended sentence on Dec. 4, 2013.
Due to his criminal record, Price could be given a prison term of six years to life plus a $10,000 fine if convicted of possessing a stolen vehicle after a former felony conviction. Price could be given a one-year jail term and a $500 fine if convicted of obstructing a Cushing police officer.
